The Forum submits communication on behalf of Nixon Nyikadzino and others similarly situated to the African Commission on Human and Peoples’ Rights. With the communication the Forum wants the African Commission to take note and action on behalf of human rights violations committed by agents of the Zimbabwean government to which Nixon Nyikadzino has been become a victim.
As outlined in the communication, Mr. Nyikadzino was abducted by a suspected member of Zimbabwe’s military intelligence and subsequently interrogated on his involvement in the work of a non-governmental organisation, the National Constitutional Assembly. During the interrogation, he was subjected to grave torture, including the threat to kill him. When he was eventually released, he was told to not get further involved in governance and human rights issues.
